Roman Yampolskiy is a Professor of Computer Science and the founding director of the Cyber Security Lab at the University of Louisville. His research spans AI safety, security, and ethics, with a focus on artificial general intelligence (AGI) and superintelligence containment. Yampolskiy is widely recognised for his work on the risks of advanced AI systems, particularly on questions of control, value alignment, and the potential need for “boxing” or containment methods. He has authored more than 200 academic papers and several books, including Artificial Superintelligence: A Futuristic Approach.
