Yoshua Bengio

Yoshua Bengio is a Canadian computer scientist, deep-learning pioneer, and co-recipient of the 2018 Turing Award (alongside Yann LeCun and Geoffrey Hinton). As founder of the Mila Research Institute, Bengio has created one of the world’s leading hubs for AI ethics, sustainability, and social responsibility. His research spans deep generative models, causal representation learning, and the alignment of AI with human values. Bengio is an active public voice for human-centric AI policy, having advised the UN, OECD, and G7 on governance frameworks.
